Three brothers - Orville, Richard and Lorne Johnston
started printing jobs in the basement of Lorne's house in the late
1950's. Their father, Orville Senior had learned the printing trade
while employed at S.S. Kresgee where Lorne also ran a press.
In 1961, the three brothers opened the doors of Johnston
Lithograph Inc. in Romulus, Michigan where it is still located today.
In the early days, Johnston Litho was doing a lot of printing for Lloyd
Waters & Associates,
an advertising agency - who is still a customer today!
Lorne's son Keith joined the company in 1978, followed
shortly by twin brother Kevin in 1979 and then their younger brother
Kurt joined in the early 1980's after earning a business degree. Today
the three brothers run Johnston Litho with over 60 devoted, competent
and talented employees. Keith manages the Production, Kevin manages
the Sales and Kurt manages the Finances.
In 1961 the original brothers made printing deals on
a hand shake and that is the way the brothers like to deal with their
customers today!
